Philips Home Safety

Being such a reputed brands, Philips failed this time by introducing home CCTV cameras. There is no proper customer service agents to guide, no after sales service. I preferred Philips over other brands for my home security CCTV camera but now Philips is not providing Clouds Subscription even after paying Monthly Fee. ‘Upgrade for premium’ tab is not working properly, I paid two times but still showing the same and not providing Cloud Service. What is the use of it?

The camera video quality is very good compared to the other brands. I have installed 3 outdoor 360 cameras, as promised it will withstand dust and water. Pan and tilt will work smoothly if we have good ping to the camera. Siren and two way communication from app is very good. Overall good quality camera and app features. We need a little more updates on the home safely application. 1. After paring we don’t have option to select the different WiFi or update the wifi password. We need to unpair and pair it. Which is more complicated since we install the camera above the average height of person. It could be more helpful for the user having more than one camera installed. 2. ⁠After pairing to the cameras, in home overview screens; camera view will get automatically arranged by last paired to first view. User could have given access to rearrange the screens by dragging or some sort of special way. So that we can arrange ourself in home overview screen. 3. Camera will capture the events during the sunset time; we set the auto mode - Night vision setting options. Due to low light, camera will be switching to colour mode and IR mode continues. Which triggers events to capture. This could be avoided. 4. Status of the continuous mode could be given on the each camera view. 5. Coverage of antenna could be more detailed in settings of each camera so that we can place the extender or router to get the best ping. 6. Could be integrated on Jio STB to download app and view it in large smart tvs.

Camera settings in devices doesn't reflect the correct state. Even if you select something, the state is not preserved and doesn't reflect properly if you move back and forth in the app. Movement tracking and night vision are some examples. The creates a certain degree of confusion and friction for the user. The app deletes or fails to fetch all the videos for a certain day with continuous recording off. Not sure if thats a feature for space optimisation or a bug. In my opinion purging shouldn’t start post 50-60% of the space usage if at all it is happening. On pressing back button in the middle of playing a video, the video playback doesn't stop. After a few playbacks, the app stops playing videos and throws random errors. Adding more feedback: In detection settings, pan works but there is no tilt to detect the moving targets although it says so in the description. The camera turns on the led lights even if user selects IR mode.
