Ovid is wisely curated with hundreds of great independent films that tell crucial and engaging stories. The organization of the app makes it easy to discover new films that are of interest. They group films by subject, by country, by creative collections. I also appreciate that they are not feeding you films based on algorithms or sponsors but allow you to use the app like a sentient being who doesn’t need to be manipulated. Bravo Ovid! Just yesterday I watched “Sapiens” an incredible documentary about the origins of art and cave paintings. These are the types of films that make the very reasonably priced service well worth the annual fee.

Ovid has so many titles that are worth watching. While it carries film classics that you may find elsewhere the documentaries are where you’ll find fascinating and challenging subjects from around the world. Ovid also features plenty of films and series that most streaming services are likely too timid to show. Well worth the price of admission.
