Oman Taxi: Otaxi

If you’re looking for the Uber of Oman, this is it. They just recently added (Oct 2023) airport pick up and drop off. The only thing is that you will have to move your pickup location away from your hotel a bit (I used some store two doors down) and you’ll be fine to order the normal cars and not the very pricey luxury ones. Also make sure you add your payment method before taking your first ride to make it even easier

lThe App is good and theapp service is also good. but some drivers are just annoying. complaining about small traffic, crossroads and anything’s they can complain about. they better mot let passengers hear it. we dont control traffic not anything in the road. we just want to atrive atbour destination.

Changing my review from 3 to 4 stars. Use of bank cards is now possible, and the drivers are getting better at using the app. Prices are still good. The maps could be better. Some roads in the Al Mouj neighborhood are missing and it confuses the drivers. Almost perfect! — Previous Review — I have used OTAXI for a few months now and it more or less works as described. One thing to note is that only cash is accepted — no bank cards! So if you are looking for something that works like Uber, this is not it. You still need cash in your pocket to ride. The app description says you can “use cash or card, as you wish” which is not true. It would be better (more honest) to just say “cash only” and note that bank card use is coming later. Also, drivers do cancel a lot and during peak hours it can be very hard to get a taxi using this app. Good to have a backup option. Other than that, the prices are good and most drivers are friendly.
