Oeni: #1 Wine Cellar Manager

Ok but with flaws. Looks good and decent amount of info on vintage and drinking windows. However, out of the 500 or so wines I downloaded via a spreadsheet, only about half actually were found by the app and could be verified; the rest need to be manually input (which is unlikely to happen). It took awhile to convert the spreadsheet I use to the format required by the app so it’s disappointing that so much still needs to be manually input. I haven’t tried scanning a bottle to see how much of its information is found so I can’t comment on that. There is also far less info in the app than in my spreadsheet. For example, grape varieties are not always listed; same with countries. There is a way to find some of that but it’s deeper in the app menu I think. Disappointed with the food pairing suggestions, too. So far, they “narrowed it down” to between 150 and 250 of my wines for any food I picked so it’s pretty much useless. I guess that if you don’t have a lot of wine and/or you haven’t tracked your collection until now, this app might be more useful to you.

I’ve been looking for a wine app for years to track my wines. During the 30 day trial period, I downloaded 683 of my wines, very happy with the results! I especially like the ability of pricing, aging of your wines, tracking of where the wine is located in the cellar, and the ability to add personal notes and also the notes from the winery for that particular vintage. They respond back to recommendations, and are continually striving to make the app better. Loving this app! Please continue to improve!

I like this App because it is pretty simple to use and captures well the different wine-related information. Also, the 3D feature of the paid version is also very helpful. However, what is not acceptable is the fact that the App does not provide any description of the grape varieties on each wine’s profile. The user will need to memorize and remember what varieties each wine consists of. For example you have a red blend, the App will show the label and the winery but it will not show the exact variety composition of the blend. This is absurd as the whole point of these Apps is certainly to manage and group you cellar (which is satisfied by the App) BUT ALSO to be able to grab the right wine that you are looking for based on the variety/varieties. The lack of this feature kind of pushes me to install other, more complete Apps…Nevertheless, I would say this is a 3-star App, yet with A LOT of room for improvement.
