This app is rapidly setting the bar for what Catalyst should have available to we the players (aside from physical books!) There are behaviors within the app that perhaps I don’t understand or are glitchy but the stream of updates is steady. Today I noticed the force packs list, which I’m assuming is new because I’ve been slowly organizing my mechs in that fashion using “organizations”. This is always my go to for preparing for a game. No doubt this App will inevitably meet all our needs, though I’ll surely keep my painful spreadsheet as well! Thank you for your work keep it up!
i love using this app to build lances and find specific mechs, because it has detailed information on most of them it seems. however, i notice that the “advanced search” function as an issue with filtering for specific weapons. The Weapons search field reads “Weapon Help: This field has been disabled” Additionally, I notice that some times certain mechs have incorrect weapons info, such as Black Knight BL-9-KNT, which is listed on this app with a Targeting Computer when the official source doesn’t list it as such. This has created issues when using this app in a public setting.
Here is a detailed first 10 minute detailed impression: This app works wonders. The app still clearly needs work as trying to tie formations to organizations crashes the app. And I have yet to test some features. HOWEVER for what’s it’s worth it’s weight in data. It has an extremely comprehensive list and after finding out how to fine tune the search system I always found what I needed. I’d love to have the ability to make custom units via the system but as it stands it more than fits my needs and beyond that. Fair note: I haven’t tried it’s battle tracker yet but so far the only instability is trying to tie formations to organizations. It has some stability issues when making said organizations as well but it’s fairly basic so it’s not that big of a issue if you don’t mind remaking it if it didn’t save some of your progress. On a personal note other than wanting to be able to make custom units, I believe unit names fonts could be slightly smaller so I can see what units I’m looking at without pulling up their full stat blocks. And if you have multiple units I. The same tab if you back out to look at the others it takes you to the beginning on the bookmarked (or inventoried) list which could possibly use a QOL to not go all the way back.
