Great app but developer does not respond to emails. We create instrument and vox tracks for all tunes in our repertoire and import them into the Multitracker app for use in rehearsals and shows. Most of the time, with a new song, we first create the instrument tracks from midi files using Cubase and a Korg Pa4x, and output individual tracks to mp3s to import into Multitracker. For rehearsals, if the bass player, for example, can’t make a rehearsal, the session goes on without him. For shows, routing a click track from the app to the drummer allows us to use backing sequences extensively. The one thing we’d like to see is replication among band members much like in the BandHelper app, which we also rely on. Each band member can purchase Multitracker app, and while there is a way to sync up all band members’ Multitracker instance, it is an annoying and convoluted process. Replication changes/additions when you open the app would be really cool.
This app is just what I needed for running backing tracks and controlling my Line6 Helix for a tribute band that I’m forming. I scoured the internet endlessly for an app that has this type of functionality, and this is only one I found that met my needs. Sebastian has been very helpful and patient with my numerous questions, a few of which could have been found in the online manual, despite our language barrier (the barrier is on my end, Sebestian’s English is very good, and I’m sure the phrasing of my questions could sometimes be confusing to anybody). I still don’t quite understand the “two-folder file management” concept quite yet, but I have the app running everything just as expected. There is definitely a slight learning curve to the app, but the time spent to understand it fully is well worth the effort. Early on, I did manage to crash the app while attempting to load multiple files from the iCloud simultaneously, and was forced to uninstall/reinstall the app to get it open, which unfortunately deleted all the work I had done at the time. Just remember to DOWNLOAD ONE FILE AT A TIME. Starting over was not that big of an issue, since I used the opportunity to edit some of the files to a better volume level and organize them better. I’ve never had even the slightest hiccup in the app during playback use, which is where it really counts. In any case, I feel the app is well worth the price, and I highly recommend it if your looking to run tracks from an iPad.
Love the large buttons, but unable to edit song tempos or key changes, which is available on most other live performance apps. Can't perform a simple edit to a song title once it's in a playlist, have to re-load the files and then change the name. CAN make changes to playlist on the fly which is very useful in a fluid performance environment. Supports as many individual output tracks as your digital i/o can give, so backup vocals can be on output 1, bass on output 2, click on output 3, etc. Very easy to use.
Multitracker is a live player that allows you to play multiple audio files and midi files comfortably and flexibly with the help of playlists. If a...
