Increasing this from 1 star to 4 stars. Got my little mistaken charge fixed! Took a while – lots of automated responses. Will up this to 5 stars after a year of no issues. Set a reminder. I love the service this company does for the community – but recently I was charged $50 for not returning a bike that: (1) I never used, (2) and was never unlocked. I attempted to rent a bike. It never unlocked. So I returned the bike using the app. I then was charged $50 for a non-return. Some weird signal issue. I wasn't so upset with this, but the customer service is refusing to refund the charge which is very given that I've been using this app for over a year with no issue.
Everything worked properly, bike was actually in wonderful condition. (For a rental). I check all the bikes before renting, just visually inspected, checked brake lever and made sure they were functioning. Every bike I checked was in working condition. Bike worked flawlessly and the rental process was very easy. However, I returned the bike with my phone “Dead”. Thought that the rental agreement would automatically close out or come to an end,it didn’t. I had to physically close the rental agreement and was charged for 3 - 4 hours… only had the bike for about an hour and a half? No big deal, total cost was 9-10$. I would like to see an upgraded system where the bike rental location has Wi-Fi or a lo-jack, rf, or anything that’ll allow you to rent a bike from their station without cellular data. If this was available my rental contract would have been closed as soon as the bike was re-attached to the docking area. Same goes for the initial rental. Some people don’t have a phone that’s cellular data equipped and/or don’t have a lot of money. Would be nice to see the company take charge of their bike stations and rent bikes without 3rd party or cell data interference. All in all, great experience, solid bike. First Time customer and I WILL BE BACK
First know I attempted to work with customer service before leaving this review. I rented 4 bikes for my family in Baton Rouge, but it took trying 8 different bikes in two different locations to get 4 good ones. The app was unresponsive for about 3 to 5 minutes between each successful rental. We took off for our destination and found one of the e-bikes would not electronically operate. Fast forward to the customer service response for this issue was “it shows 71% battery. Sorry for your inconvenience.” I manually pedaled that bike while the rest of the family sped off to our destination. The next problem came when we were ending our ride. After parking and locking the bikes in the designated area, it took over half an hour before the app would work to manually end our ride. We started walking around while I watched the app spin. Guess what, if you attempt to manually end your ride after walking away, they threaten to charge you a $50 fine for “not parking in a designated area”. I walked half a mile back to finally manually end my ride on the app. Basically I was way over charged for our 4 bike rental experience. Needless to say, we took an Uber back to our hotel over renting the bikes again.
