To begin with, the TV show selection is pretty good and getting better. If you are a fan of non-US produced TV, it's terrific. However, the app itself is horrible. It's bad enough that canceling after the three month (reduced fee) trial is a real possibility. Here’s a short list of the navigation and ease of use issues I have had over the last 3 weeks: 1. Adding shows to your List does not add all seasons of a show to your list 2. Finishing a season does not automatically take you to the next season 3. Sometimes finding the next season is difficult, requiring another search 4. Search results don't tell you which season an episode is from 5. Search results show episodes in reverse order 6. Watching an episode, turning the tv off for the night, and turning it back on the next day doesn't take you to the next episode My list of complaints continues and one must wonder who designed the user interface. Developers are not (usually) good UI designers or testers. You have to have some designers who know all levels of users and how people think. I'm not suggesting designing it for a five-year-old or their great-great grandparents. But it has to work better than it does. MHz should check out some competitors and get some ideas from them. *** Note: This is from my experience with the Apple TV version of MHz. I have no experience with apps designed for other platforms.
Like many others, I developed an appreciation for Nordic noir early on in the COVID-19 lockdown. It didn’t take me long to binge all of the Scandinavian content on Netflix when I wasn’t baking banana bread, so I was soon longing for new stories to hunker down with. Thank goodness I stumbled upon MHz Choice during my search. It includes content from all over the globe, including a very healthy selection of my beloved Scandinavian crime series, all with English subtitles. After watching for a few minutes, reading the subtitles becomes second nature and you even begin pick up on certain phrases and mannerisms in each language. It does not detract from the viewing experience; if anything, it adds to it! I am quite happy none of the content is dubbed in English, as I find that to be very distracting. I can’t recommend this service enough. Please do yourself a favor and give it a try.
What began as survival during the Pandemic they have with great programming brought me to the best of cinema and tv. It was my first choice of Chanel’s and still the my go to place. It’s sad funny mysterious and dramatic. It allows you to see a wide verity by country, best of N.Y. Times, Agatha Cristy and first place to go for Scandinavian productions. You’ll also find your self looking for the books some are based on and follow actors as they move across different projects and character types. You’ll never want to go back to US style shows. Only want to watch more of what comes across the Atlantic to your smart tv’s and streaming platforms. MHz provides you an opening into the best of Tv and Movies go through their open door and don’t be surprised if you want to stay there.
