maveo app

I was excited to get my bluefi stick & add it to my Marantec opener. Downloaded the app & eventually was able to add the stick to the app. That was the one single time I could get the app to do anything at all. Every time after that, the app would launch, connect to the Maveo cloud, then spin forever & ever trying to connect to the bluefi stick. No matter how long I waited or how often I tried, it never once connected. I was never able to open or close the door even a single time. I can’t even remove it to try to re-add it because it tries to connect to the bluefi stick to do so. Right now I feel like I absolutely wasted $50.

Seems odd that an open/close notification is not a built-in feature. I have an old myq that’s not even compatible with my garage door (thus I’m using this), but I still need to use it to monitor when the door is open or closed. I find that to be a major shortcoming. The app needs some visual updates, and whatever is processing on the backend makes it slow, but it’s usable for what it’s intended. Add the notifications and it’s a 3.5.

I have had the maveo WiFi device on my home for about a year now. It has really come a long way since the beginning. It opens and loads quickly. It works as advertised. I enjoy the visual layout of the screen, as well as the functionality. I activated the geofence feature and it is really neat. I have several friends and acquaintances whom I’ve helped set it up in their own homes. It’s quick and easy. Definitely a worthwhile app!
