I've used this a lot for navigation, and now I use it as my primary navigation app because it's more private and there are a few details that make this many steps ahead of Google Maps in my opinion. I usually punch in the address I get from Google Maps and it routes me there flawlessly. Traffic info is really good and the routes are way better imo. I also noticed that Google Maps will sometimes decide to change the route without your permission, which this app doesn't - you can have a default to select a faster route or stay on the current route. Another thing is the lane guidance, Google Maps only shows this if you're near a lane change, but this one shows it, say, if you are on the same road and want to stay on it. This is a game changer because with GMaps it's easy to accidentally move into the exit lane and have to drive another mile to take the on ramp. Also, if Carplay disconnects on random occasions, the navigation keeps going, super helpful! Finally, the directions themselves - "turn around when possible", "at the 2nd road turn left", "immediately turn right" - much more natural. While this comes from OpenStreetMap data which isn't for everyone, I can definitely live with it given the navigation experience, so I recommend it as a general navigation app.
I’ve used this exclusively for a couple weeks. First thing before I forget: it respects your privacy. None of the others do. As for the rest, the navigation is really good. IMO, it is better than Apple Maps or Google. The interface, while needing some tweaks, is nice and clear. It shows addresses and businesses in the map while not feeling cluttered. It works really well with apple car mode (whatever that is called) with a few exceptions. When using the keyboard (on the car interface), there is no way to get rid of the keyboard after you’ve typed. This means you cannot see the results. It is also not as good at finding search results, sometimes suggesting something on the other side of the country when the correct listing is first in Apple Maps. Hopefully this gets better with time. TLDR: it’s private, works great in most regards. Hopefully improves. Definitely worth supporting.
I have been using GPS devices for 3 decades. I live in a country where it is still not possible to buy anything from the App Store. That is why it is very important that this App is really free, and there are no hidden costs. This off line GPS App is to be recommended. Guided precisely, I especially like rotating the map in a circular motion, which many autonomous (and expensive) devices do not. Clear, Intuitive, Simple. Clear functions. Huge selection of maps. Easy insertions points between the start and end point of the trip. Good choice of voices. Excellent organization of POI folders. It connects perfectly with the phonebook, with addresses from existing maps, house numbers are accurate. For those who use the HUD function - it works great. There is also the possibility of a dash cam. My rating is 10, if there was a possibility to save the programmed route, the rating would be 10+. This App is in the spirit of today, uses all the features of a smartphone. It can serve as an example to many device and software manufacturers. Kudos to the whole team who worked on this project.
