We visited the Logan’s on Alpine ZnW in Walker on Thursday afternoon. What a wonderful upgrade to the restaurant. We were impressed. My husbands steak was good and liked the loaded mashed potatoes. Unfortunately my Salmon came with rice on it after our waiter had specifically wrote no rice, I’m dairy and gluten free, allergy. So because of that they had to remake the whole plate. By the time I received my dinner two out of the 4 of us were already done eating. Logan’s did take 1/2 off my dinner for that error. Had I not been on the ball and realized that though and started eating it, I would have gotten very ill. I would have had my husband calling the restaurant for a free meal. This is inexcusable, new cook or not. That person needs to read directions more closely or she will get someone very ill. My second meal came without rice and was very good, our waiter apologized over and over again, not his fault. Hats off to our waiter Ryant.
We tried Logan’s after a long period of not eating out at steak houses (since COVID pandemic …). We did get there after 8:00 pm on a Sunday night because so many other restaurants were not serving after 8:00 pm. We called ahead to ensure they would be open (yes, until 10:00 pm). Someone sat us as soon as we walked in (almost nobody else was dining …). We waited probably 12-15 minutes for someone to come over to take drink orders and take food orders. After flagging down the manager, we finally got a waitress to serve our table. By this time, someone else came in to dine. But, most of the staff were cleaning, wrapping flatware, and shutting down early … . We did get our food. It was middle of the road for a common steakhouse chain. We get it that it’s hard to find staff when the pay is so low and others pay much better. Apparently our tips were pre-judged to be mediocre (which means the server ensured a self-fulfilling prophecy). While the server brought our check, we waited 12-15 minutes for someone to come receive our payment (one paid all cash, the other two checks at the table paid by credit card). All-in-all, American chain restaurants are waaaaayyyy over priced for the service they provide combined with the mediocre quality of the food they serve. Apparently we are too willing to accept this mediocrity OR maybe we won’t be back … . In which case, another franchise restaurant will go out of business and we will find better options for dining out.
We will never eat at Logan’s if the only place they are seating guests is at the bar area! The service is always terrible. Attention is on the drinks and not the customers eating!!! We were not given a plate to put our rolls in, asked for extra napkins and never received, in fact the waitress never came to check on us until she brought the bill!!! No refilling of our drunks and did not even off for dessert or anything else!!!!! Needless to say, no tip was left!!! We have had poor service in this area before, but today was the last straw!!! We will leave if this seating is all that’s available, if we come back!!!!
