Be aware!!! Feels scammy. Book wasn’t that helpful I didn’t get what I would have wanted to out of it at all. App- I specifically recall canceling a year ago and deleting. Unbeknownst to me through PayPal I have been charged $54 every 3 months for an entire year. I wasn’t using PayPal for a period of time so I wasn’t seeing these charges. Redownloaded it and saw this going on. I was very confused because additionally it isn’t charged under Lasting Change- you’ll get charged by medical score or Effecto App. You will get zero reminders ever of this subscription. You will also get zero communication from the company like newsletters or anything of that sort. They’ll never even email you like most companies like this will checking in to see if you’re enjoying their product/giving tips/advice/ etc. They will charge you over and over again in hopes you don’t notice. You cannot simply cancel on their website you have to email them- fortunately they did this without hassle. They will not refund you for any of this either. Even if you email them the day the charge occurred. I fell for the book and the scam. It’s not worth it truly. Avoid!
*update* They said to reach out. They in fact told me no refund. I went ahead and filed a complaint on copyright fraud and as well with the FCC on not canceling the subscription and refunding. They legally had to refund the month that hasn’t processed and I was told no. I should have got a full refund for all of it. But now I just gotta keep fighting the good fight for all of you. AGAIN DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH this company. Original: The book is GREAT. The app and company itself is terrible. It’s impossible to cancel and they will not refund. I spent months trying to cancel. The rude customer service would not refund even when showed proof this should have been cancelled months before the first time I emailed. Basically made me feel stupid and now I have to go a week without meds I need Becuase they refuse to refund. TERRIBLE company subscription. The book is great: my therapist said lots of these books and materials are helpful, but you can get them all from trained therapist without the headache and shady business practices of recurring payments that impossible to cancel without a fight. And no refund. Any open to a class action I have someone interested
i love the idea of this app and have reminders set up to remind me to check in, but every time i go in, it is so overwhelming how much information it gives you to fill in yourself. as someone who is looking for motivation to do more with my life, the app seems more like a chore than anything helpful. it would be great to have the app sort of break it down throughout the day and ask you questions about the info it wants in order to keep track. like as a group of questions relating to the time of day the user is checking in. it’s just too much and i get super overwhelmed, which means i never get the benefit that the app is supposed to bring into my life. idk if that makes sense, but i definitely suffer from choice paralysis and can’t focus long enough to figure out the complexity of this app. there are no real functionality issues though, otherwise the app works well.
