Jigsaw Bug: HD Puzzle Game

My family loves jigsaw puzzles. . .except for me. I am utterly without talent for them, despite the many hours I spent hunched over them as a child. To make it all the harder, my brother is an absolute genius with them. But here is an app we can both use and enjoy. I set each puzzle for 63 pieces, oriented correctly. He sets his for 300 pieces and not oriented. I don’t know how long one of those takes him—under two hours, if past performance is any guide—but I can do mine in about five minutes, while talking on the phone, and have the satisfaction of completing a small task and having a pretty picture to look at—all for pennies. The puzzle packs are many and varied, and it’s just so relaxing to put the pieces together. Mind you, I still have no talent. But I do enjoy this app. My only quibble, a small one, is that when a piece is very dark, it is invisible against the black background on the right. I wonder if a neutral gray, in some shade less common than black, might not help. I know gray pieces would then be hard to see, but maybe not as hard as black-on-black. Thank you for many hours of enjoyment.

I love this app. Only one problem. The response to touching a piece to move can be a real challenge. I touch a piece to move it and the piece does not move with my finger. I go back and touch it again, same result. Sometimes I have to touch a piece 4 or 5 times. This is a free app with puzzles to purchase. There are no obtrusive ads, as of this review. You just get an option to purchase puzzle packs when you start the app and as you complete puzzles. Thank you, thank you, thank you. This is what is keeping me from searching for a jigsaw puzzle app with better touch response. It would be great if you could adjust the touch response, if it can be done without ruining other aspects of the app. That happens so often, one issue is fixed or improved, and it ruins something else. So, if you can’t do this without causing other issues, please leave it as it is. As long as you do not add outside ads, I will keep using this puzzle.

A friend of mine wanted a jigsaw app he could do on his iPad while listening to audio books in bed, and asked for my input. I couldn't recommend any of the ones I'd used previously, so I went looking for something new and found this one, which is exactly what we were looking for. No adds (the startling, flashy pop-up ones in some games are a total no go for me) was the first big plus. Having access to a good number of free puzzles right away gave both of us a chance to test the game mechanics for accessibility (sinking money into a game I can't actually enjoy playing is the opposite of fun). Also, it works equally well on iPhone and iPad. Combined with all that, the ability to choose puzzle piece shape and number each time you do any puzzle makes it perfect. I don't have to determine ahead of time whether my brain is up to playing this game. If I want to solve puzzles, I can adjust this game to my function level that day, with the added bonus of easily making it more challenging any time I want to. Thank you.
