This app has been a lifesaver for my husband and I to track when we last fed/diapered our little one, but sometimes it struggles to keep the data up to date with having two people logged in to the same account, and sometimes it takes a couple tries to make sure it logged something. The virtual milk storage is great for quantity, but there's not a lot of versatility to move milk from tray to tray once frozen, so while I've been trying to figure out what my freezer system will be, I'm married to wherever I put them in the beginning which can be a little cumbersome but still useful to know how much we have in storage and when it will expire. The functionality I desperately want though is the ability to have a widget or for the session of breastfeeding to appear on the lock screen so there's less phone fumbling time when I'm trying to balance kiddo. A reach but still something what would be amazing would be a setting for pumping that allows you to set the time you want to pump and it counts down rather than up so you get a notification when you're done. This would have been especially helpful when building my milk supply! Still way better than paper tracking!
In 2019 and the beginning of 2020, this app saved my life. My husband and I both used it on our phones to track bottles and diapers, and I tracked breastfeeding and pumping. It was user friendly and well organized. With baby #2, I just reopened the app to use it again and it’s just terrible. :( It’s very unorganized, timers automatically start when you click to log breastfeeding or pumping that you have to immediately stop and then manually put in your time (unless you have a pump that will connect to the app via Bluetooth). And don’t get me started on logging previous happenings - I came home from the hospital and wanted to log her first 36 hours in the app so everything was in one place, and when it takes about 10 tries to change the time on logging something and the date because they make it so small that you fat finger everything. They have what feels like 5 millions categories now for logging when it was nicer to have the basics - breastfeeding, pumping, bottles, and diapers. Stats gives you the overall for the day but it’s laid out different for each day in a different order depending how what order you logged things. It is just SO hard to navigate efficiently now and it’s difficult to find things!!! Medela, please fix these issues because I am losing my mind after using the app for only 24 hours! I really don’t want to switch to another one but will have to if it stays like this — it’s giving us headaches.
I have been using this app daily since December 2020 to track my nursing sessions and occasionally nap sessions. I was excited to hear there would be new app updates this morning until I went to open it. It is not clear on how to manually add time for nursing, sleeping, etc. previously there was a very specific button that directed you to manual time. Now it appears I have to start a session, stop it, then can edit it after I save it. It’s a few extra steps for the user, but is bothersome. Also before the update, before starting a session it clearly told you which side you fed on last on the start page. You can still get the info, but is on a different screen and is not as apparent. I keep having to search for “L” or “R” A few other complaints would be on the date and time settings. I went to add data from another day, but didn’t select the date. I went to edit it, but it didn’t save, it still used today’s date. As far as the time goes, when I want to manually change the time for a session (see earlier complaint about manual times) I can’t just type in 10:30…I have to select the text field for the hour type 10, then select the minute text field and type 30. It’s a minor complaint, but again didn’t have this issue prior to the update. As a new mom I don’t want to be fumbling around trying to figure out the app. I want something that is more straight forward, very easy to use and read. I know the app update just released today, but I’m hoping this comment will make it to the programmers to fix these minor “bugs”
