I really really love this app. 1. It’s free. 2. I can handle really long pieces of text. 3. It sounds good and you can adjust speed and pitch. 4. It used to play in the background. But! after this recent update it doesn’t. Which means if I want to listen to my long pieces of text not only do I have to stay on the app while it plays but I have to change my settings so that my screen doesn’t fall asleep while it’s playing or I’ll have to restart. Also on my old device it played through fine but since using the app on my newer model phone it does something where it plays through the first several sentences and then plays the same sentences over and over until it stops completely. Or if it encounters a weird character it just stops completely. I love this app when it does what I need it to, but lately getting it to work is too complicated.

I have Attention Deficit Disorder Primarily Inattentive type and cannot focus long enough some days to read paragraphs upon paragraphs of text without zoning out. However, even in this worst case scenario, I can usually focus enough to listen to audio. This app has already been a lifesaver and I’ve only had it about a week. The other, lower-quality, TTS apps could learn a thing or two from this app. The ads are there, but they don’t impact the quality of the app itself because they’re out of the way while advertising, and there’s no subscription. I recommend speak.

This app is GREAT!!! I had surgery in my throat earlier this year and was unable to speak for two weeks--this app immensely helped me get through that time. I found the adjustable aspects extremely creative as well as entertaining. You can change the pitch and speed of the voice, and you can choose from a huge list of various accents! I'm glad I found this app, and I would recommend it to anyone who needs something like it. Not being able to speak if a very trying experience, and having this app to help out as well as add some entertainment value into your life is very nice :)
