Lumos: Sun and Moon Tracker

This is a great app, it works perfectly after a little calibration, for me. The display of the sun arc is perfect for understanding solar energy availability for your roof and side of your house throughout the year! Prior to finding this app, I was trying to check the sun position for every season from a window on the side of the house and by watching the roof and taking pictures. I would like to see a few additions for the pro version, 1.) let the notifications also be setup based on current weather conditions - I don’t need to know it’s perfect sun for photography if it’s an overcast day. 2.) on the shade calculator, provide a way to setup trees around your house and enter their height, then show on the street view how that appears at any season with the sun at its arc during that time, for example I have a lot of trees blocking the back 1/2 of my roof and part of the sides of my house, but it will be real hard to calculate how much sun energy I can get at those locations if the trees are shading those areas and it’s hard to calculate or see that in Lumos Pro now, I would also need to enter some type of setup on the height of the house I think as well as the shade calculation must include the higher location of the roof and sides of the house based on the height of the house too. 3.) provide a way to display more of the arc of the suns path where it actually is, and then a lower point indicating the time at that position as I have to keep raising and lowering my phone to see the times on the arc as they are above where I can see them in AR. 4.) calculate actual sun energy reference points that will be available at 4 seasonal points of the year and based on a square footage of solar panels, so in: equinox, and 2 solstice points, and maybe one total for the whole year (average expected solar energy that can be generated with xx number of panels, which can be saved in setup).

Great app for any photographer that uses sunlight. (A good majority) So helpful when imagining scenes and camera positions in a remote location for a future date. My only complaint is that the app doesn’t think I have compass calibration on, so augmented reality does not work. I checked my settings, and I do have compass calibration on. Devs, I am running on iPhone 6 at iOS 12.2. Please see if there is another function call for my hardware/iOS version that will work. Thanks. EDIT: ignore my issue. I opened it again after several uses and the AR started working and showing sun path. Updated to 5 stars

The eclipse will happen here in Portland Oregon in a few days… And I was busy trying to figure out where the Sunil be in the sky so I can find a proper viewing position… Unfortunately it was cloudy today and I wasn't able to locate the sun. I figured there had to be a son tracker app in the App Store so I went searching for one that was free… Of all the free apps for tracking the Sun and Moon this one hands-down is the best. It's virtual reality option is especially handy. You can type in a time and a date and it will show you exactly where the sun will be located at that time. Great job guys keep up the great work.
