This is a waste of time. The paper barcode I scanned was approved immediately. The 3 we did via the electronic barcode the global blue app gave us are still pending. This is a huge amount of money. Now we are back in the states and can not get in touch with their customer service. Ugh. Just scan the paper and don’t waste time on the app or electronic version. So frustrating. Have also tried contacting customer service via email and chat with zero response. This is a SCAM and shouldn’t be allowed. So frustrated. Next time I shop I will actually ask to not use global blue as there are many other refund services in France like skip tax. Our refund from them which Disney uses is already in my account. Very frustrated with global blue and I will not change my rating until I receive my refund. Update: 1 week later still has my electronic validated forms as “processing”. I finally spoke with an agent last week and they said they were sent to credit card but the account still shows pending and no money back on my cc
IT IS NOT FREE. I WAS CHARGED WITHOUT NOTICE. You don’t need the app for any reason. It is not easy to reach customer service. The app doesn’t tell you that it will charge percentage of your refund. And the most important thing to know is the you don’t need this app at all. It doesn’t save you any time at the airport. You still have to scan your form using the machine at the airport whether you have the app or not. I used the app because I thought it was free. It helps you look at all your purchases in one place but that is not worth any percentage of your refund. I downloaded it after I received the message when I shopped at Zara. I am very upset that they charged me 9 to 10% without any notice. I don’t know if Zara get some money too because they help the app by sending text messages to the buyer. I couldn’t contact customer service. I really would like to get my money back or I think this company should be sued for misleading customers.
I filled out all information when I uploaded the app. Including all needed pictures. I also had all of my paperwork stamped, the actual purchases and proof of purchases with me when I left the EU. Had everything sorted, stamped, and mailed (dropped into the box) before leaving the EU. So disappointed to find that 2 months later there is still a message on my app stating “Stamp needed”. This is not the case and I have many pictures to prove it. Yet, there is no contact information under the heading of “contact us” in the app to find help. I’ll think twice about purchasing big items using Global Blue VAT services in Europe when I head over again in 2 months.
