I subscribed to EpicTok after seeing advertisements in Instagram that featured engaging historical videos and documentaries. The ads gave the impression that I would have access to a large library of video content. However, after paying for the service, I found that ALLL of the content was audio-based rather than video, like an Audiobook. I felt misled. The app I paid differed significantly from what was promoted.
After paying I am realizing this app misrepresents itself and does not have animated history or stories. It’s a book on tape with a single picture for each chapter, no animation. I don’t see any place to cancel my subscription. There’s no trial to really know what the product does other than the misleading Facebook ads that make it seem like animated storytelling. I can’t find other stories either… just one big book of chapters, an audio book. I can only hope they refund my money and not try to charge me annually for their audio books.
I would give it Zero stars if I could. Does not work as advertised. A complete scam. Could not sign in to create an account. I assumed, wrongly, that Apple vetted Apps in their store. Very disappointed in Apple for letting this App in the App Store. Don’t waste your time and your money on Epictok. I filled a formal complaint with Apple, still waiting for a response.
