I have two forums of my own that both have over 2.3k members in our little west Texas town. One is for moms who are seeking more holistic day-to-day care and remedies as well as just being a community for local like-minded moms to go and ask any questions and know that they will not be made fun of or judged. Like I used to tell all my childbirth classes and newborn care classes and my over 100 doula clients: all parents are winging it and it’s okay to ask for help. My other group is a plant group but I created it to be a community. Absolutely no ugliness allowed (unless someone needs help with an ugly Plant haha) and it’s all about community. This app is allowing me to keep up much more closely with the groups I run as well as the groups I’m a member of! It’s been so much faster dealing with plant purges and all comments and posts etc. and saves me time trying to track down comments/questions in groups I admin!
Forum has become one of the most helpful apps I use because it brings all the groups I love into one space. Instead of jumping between different platforms, everything I care about is right here — supportive communities, helpful conversations, and people who actually understand what I’m looking for. The app feels organized and super easy to navigate. It makes it easy to stay connected, ask questions, and find encouragement without feeling overwhelmed. Having all my favorite groups together in one app has made my day-to-day life so much simpler and more meaningful. Forum really is a safe, uplifting place to be!
I pretty much use Facebook just for groups and very little else. This app allows me to just see the groups without all the pesky pages and profiles that I don’t care to see. I can still always go back to Facebook if I get bored of groups, but I’m in over 1200 groups and I admin a good handful of groups as well. I do think the adminning side could use a little more work, it wouldn’t let me check off the rules violated when declining a post, but there are some features not in the Facebook app that might prove useful. I’m skeptical about the Admin AI, but it might prove useful for group analysis and metrics. The title “forum” seems a bit misleading because it’s basically just a curated app for groups, it doesn’t remind me of an old school forum.
