Sora looks impressive, but it sometimes fails to understand detailed prompts, and its limited availability makes it frustrating for users who want to try it. While the visuals are stunning, the AI can misinterpret scenes or freeze mid-render. The waiting list system also makes it feel more like an exclusive club than a tool for everyone. Another issue is that Sora doesn’t always respect creative details—sometimes it changes colors, settings, or characters completely. And when the request gets too unusual, it simply refuses instead of offering alternatives. It would be amazing if Sora could learn from feedback or let users edit parts of the video directly, instead of starting over each time. Plus, it sometimes feels like it’s guessing what you want instead of truly understanding it; you can spend more time adjusting your prompts than enjoying the results. The render times can be long, and if the servers are busy you might wait quite a while for a clip that still isn’t what you pictured. For something that promises instant creativity, those delays can pull you right out of the fun.

As a dedicated Sora user, I’ve found the platform to be an extraordinary tool for bringing creative ideas to life often those that feel impossible to visualize elsewhere. Sora gives that creativity in a way a few apps can bring and I believe it holds true potential for growth and development. That said, I’d like to offer some feedback from my experience. As a UI/UX designer, I’ve noticed that certain settings specifically those related to video length and orientation (landscape vs. portrait) can be difficult for users to locate and adjust. It took me some time to discover how to modify these options, and I’ve heard similar concerns from other users who found this setting and were surprised that it was on the top of the screen this entire time but they never thought to check it. For future updates, I recommend making these settings more accessible and clearly labeled. Improving their visibility and ease of use would significantly enhance the onboarding experience for new users and streamline workflows for existing ones. Aside from this, I want to say that Sora is by far the most inspiring and powerful creative app I’ve ever used. I’m excited to see how it continues to evolve and unlock its full potential.

The app itself and the concept of what it’s supposed to do is really cool, but the way it’s actually implemented is really disappointing. If you just want to make some silly video of animals playing poker or something then it will probably do that, but if you want anything more adult/serious then it just won’t let you make it, even if you have no plans of posting it anywhere. It’s so restricted in generating things that might be violent or remotely sexual, that if you tell it to generate a punch it will do more of a shove to the body and try to hide it off screen, and will get flagged and refuse to generate anything more than that. Also, you literally can’t even include the word “bikini” in your prompt in any way without it getting flagged for sexual content. I understand the restrictions on using third party content and the likenesses of real people for legal reasons, but the restrictions on just what kind of content you can create are ridiculous. Sora does its job and generates videos, but the restrictions they give it makes it feel like you’re using the app with a parental lock and like they assume everyone using the app is 12 or something. I’d much prefer the app only be available to people 18+ or even 21+ and then be able to use Sora to its full potential instead of the lobotomized, “family friendly” version of Sora we have right now.
