Works but Info Might be Wrong

This app works great for controlling what I need from my couch. There’s plenty of options. That being said, the inverter always says either working at 89 percent capacity or off. It’s always possible something is legitimately wrong with my system but I think it’s more than likely something wrong with how the app tracks the variable system.

Old app was better, and that’s not saying much

I don’t know who they created this app for, but there’s no actual control of my system. One example, I like to be able to run my fan on low at times (especially while sleeping.) As best I can see, there’s no way to control the fan. It’s either Auto, Medium, or High. Auto means off. Low means off. At least with the old system I could set the fan to low on my sleep schedule. If that exists now, I can’t tell. I think they tried to over-simplify, yet at the same time, it’s not intuitive what you’re getting. My old non-smart thermostat gave me more options. Please improve this system. I am close to replacing a second HVAC system, and if this is the only “smart”thermostat for the brand group, I’ll likely switch brands. For the most part, I like the mechanical pieces of the system. But the Ion thermostat is not good.

Unintuitive, slow, buggy

First of all, the app doesn’t look like the controller. It would make a lot more sense if it just looked exactly like the controller screen. As it is, it is anything but intuitive, and on top of that it is not what anyone who owns this controller is accustomed to seeing. It is not at all obvious what the current temperature is versus the set temperature. It is not obvious whether the system is even running. And then there’s a big huge lag between what is shown on the controller itself and what is shown in the app, if indeed it ever does sync up. Just make it work as easily as the Wall controller. Make the information update in real time. Stop trying to make it all encompassing. Just make it so that it’s possible to control the HVAC system. Make it so that I can use it on my real computer in addition to using it on a mobile device. Dan don’t make me choose between real computer or a mobile device. I want both. I want to use whichever device happens to be most convenient for me.
