Fun idea but flawed concept and bad app

It’s kind of a flawed system because you can just connect with people and then agree to meet up with them again without paying 300$. From the ones I’ve done most people don’t show up or drop off after the first meeting. I was connected to people way younger than me and didn’t really have much in common even though they make you do the quiz and supposedly spend “hours” matching you up. The app is also extremely bad. It will log out and make me sign up completely again and then suddenly remember me. It also randomly signed me up for events that aren’t even in my city. It’s a fun idea but at least in my area it doesn’t really pan out and the concept is expensive just for someone to give you timed tasks and tell you what to talk about. I don’t believe they deliberately match you because it’s just anyone that signs up for that date. If they got a group and then assigned dates then it would make sense. But they aren’t turning people down from dates which means there is no care in who you are matched with. Saying they spend hours on matching is just a lie. It’s age range and little else. In a major city it might work better but it’s definitely false advertising that they match you on purpose.

Don’t Waste Your Time and Money

This feels like a total scam. For a program that says they value price transparency they’re not at all transparent. All the materials that I received before signing up and paying the $289 for the series describe that you’re paying for 7 weeks of events + meal, the initial M&G email I got describes this, the post M&G “what’s in store for you” email, and the “You did it, here’s what next email” ALL say here’s 7 weeks of events (including the M&G which you already pay $25 for separately but okay), which will have an activity and meal to promote bonding. Come to find out day before my first event that the lunches aren’t included at all, and 4/6 remaining weeks of activities are all already free or no cost to the organizer (walks, 1-1s, more walks, self-planned reunion) so what am I even paying for?!! I don’t get any impression that I was deliberately matched with my group either, they’re all nice enough but we have very limited things on common from what I’m learning so I think it’s literally just based on the meet and greet date that you choose when you’re first singing up, not intentionally matching. This is such a waste - don’t even bother. Not to mention all the other reviews about the app are correct; I can’t access any features other than my series group chat and daily mindfulness. There are no clubs, can’t sign up for any 1-1s, can’t access the community forum, nothing that I’m supposed to have access to after they force you into being a member for 1 year when purchasing the series…

A Lifesaver for Building Real Friendships

At certain points in life, it can be surprisingly difficult to make new friends—especially if you’ve moved to a new city, don’t have kids, aren’t part of the dominant religion, or simply don’t find yourself meeting others in traditional ways like sports or school events. That’s exactly where RealRoots comes in. As an extrovert, I never expected to struggle with connection, but after moving to Salt Lake City, I found it incredibly hard to meet people who weren’t just passing through. RealRoots changed everything. They match you with women in your age group and local area, and organize meetups that feel natural, inclusive, and genuinely welcoming. Through RealRoots, I’ve met incredible women—some who live just blocks away from me—who I never would have crossed paths with otherwise. I’m so grateful for this community and excited to continue building meaningful friendships. If you’re feeling disconnected, this could be exactly what you’ve been looking for.
