Stop Donation Spam

I was getting political messages almost every hour. “Friend, you are the last chance to save our nation and I’m an unknown candidate from a thousand miles away. Chip in! Chip in!” It was making me crazy and I knew no way to turn it off, except possibly changing my phone number and losing contact with friends I couldn’t reach. In desperation I threw ten bucks at this app, ten days ago. I can hardly believe the results. Immediately the political messages came to a complete halt. I have not seen one in 10 days. If things change, I’ll come back and let you know, but I’m giving Stop Donation Spam a total and enthusiastic positive recommendation.

When I first installed this app, it was like a miracle! Donation spam almost stopped entirely. But over the last six months, it seems basically worthless. I am inundated now with political fundraising texts. I spent several months reporting every text I received to the app, with seemingly no effect. Not worth paying for anymore, sadly. Sure wish there was a way to stop these texts that actually worked.

I installed this app on my iPhone because of a favorable Wall Street Journal article. During the first 2-3 weeks it seemed worthless. There was no decrease in spam political texts, and nothing appeared in the provided Junk and Spam folders. I also forwarded each unfiltered message to the support site, as requested in the app. I had to email support 3 times over 20 days until I finally received a response. After deleting, restarting, redownloading, and re-installing, I then had to wait several more days before it started to work. I would have given it 5 stars for its level of functioning now, but I subtracted one for slow customer service and the initial glitches.
