I’ve known Susanna, Yoke’s creator, for nearly 20 years, and have grown to really admire and trust where she focuses her attention and how she honors and teaches about yoga. I’m so excited for this app and love it already. And because she listens to people, their needs and feedback, I know it’ll only get better. I appreciate the categories and easy to search options. I like that I can consciously choose to pause doom scrolling, and go here instead. It’s a way to connect with other people who are choosing to go inward more often while connecting toward our collective liberation as well. Highly recommend and see you there!
Yoga content on Yoke Yoga goes beyond what you see on traditional social media platforms. It also goes deeper into what is typically taught in a yoga class. There is so much more to yoga beyond the purely physical and content creators show all these facets of yoga. Yoga with an intersectional lens is shown. It shoes the communal, spiritual, and ancestral side to yoga. Yoga as a form of medicine is also demonstrated. Highly recommend for those who want to learn more about yoga beyond the physical forms of it, and what it could look like for individuals of various backgrounds and abilities.
My favorite part about social media is learning new things, being inspired and exposed to new ways of thinking. But social media has also felt like one big commercial lately, with everyone editing and curating themselves inauthentically. I’ve been having a tough time reducing my screentime lately, so I’m so happy to have downloaded this yoga scrolling app! I feel more regulated and balanced rather than out of it, unfocused and tired as well as being able to fall asleep faster. I’m deleting my social media apps off of my phone and only using my desktop to upload posts because scrolling on here feels so much better and is inspiring my personal yoga practice and teaching.
