This app for sure works. Nice to be able to monitor and change things for my watering via my phone. Connecting it was harder than it needed to be. The 2.4 vs 5 on a router and had to manually go in to update firmware to be accessible from outside my home network are 2 examples. Also the app planning or seeing what is going to happen takes some getting used to. Not that intuitive. Also the charts function takes whole screen of phone and you cant get out unless you exit app and come Back.

I like the app, but itms the second in a month that I’m using it, and itms loosing the config, the result is my plant were not watered for two weeks and I live in Las Vegas, so all dead. I already had problems with two devices that failed, this last one was sent to me graciously and it works fine, I’m wondering if I’m gonna keep using RainPoint products, even though their support is good, but too many problems and too much money spent at the end.

I was using the HomGar app and discovered this much improved version (works with the same RainPoint devices). It includes If-Then logic (called Smart Scenes) so you can do things like have a rain sensor trigger a delay in watering schedules, or have it water extra if the temperature is over a certain threshold. It’s a killer feature that makes all the devices finally work together like they should! There is some clunkiness to the app and sometimes things aren’t super intuitive but it has good functionality. The only thing I wish it had was an API so I could pull stats or control it with my Hubitat.
