Jetpac: eSIM Travel App

Full disclosure - my trip got canceled so I was unable to use my Jetpac(s). This review is for their customer service. I bought three 30GB Jetpacs, one each for my wife and my son and I for our trip to Europe (Paris, Belgium, and Amsterdam). Because my son’s phone is locked I was unable to install his. I reported this to Jetpac’s customer service and after giving them my information they issued me a refund. About 1-2 weeks later we found out we were going to have to cancel our entire European trip. I wasn’t expecting much as I had already installed the other two eSIMs on my phone and my wife’s phone. But I had not Turner either of them on as I was waiting to do so upon landing in Europe. I reported this to Customer Service and to my surprise and delight they issued refunds for both of those eSIMs as well. To me great customer service has tremendous value, especially when dealing with international data plans. I will absolutely use Jetpac the next time I travel out of the country and would recommend them to anyone doing the same.

Prefacing having been an Airalo, Holafly user. 1st time using Jetpac. Purchased 2 eSIMs for 2 iPhones and proceeded to install prior to travel but the 1st one failed to install. Emailed support and had quick responses intraday after the typical troubleshooting email exchanges, finally with new eSIMs. The 2nd phone’s install worked as per instructions but the 1st failed again. Final email came next morning as the communication occurred during a weekend with another eSIM which was installed successfully. Great responsiveness from Dan, Nicole. Based on this, although Jetpac pricing is a bit lower than Airalo and Holafly, particularly the unlimited plans less than Holafly and which Airalo doesn’t have, their service team’s support is excellent which is quite rare. Highly recommended!

Don’t use this for anything important. Repeatedly I’d have 5G and almost full bars yet couldn’t connect to the internet or receive texts and calls (using data). So when someone was trying to contact me in an emergency, none of the texts or calls went through to my phone until I arrived home 2 hours later and connected to WiFi. Everything was fine, I could text, call and connect to the internet. Then randomly throughout the day, despite still having 5G and several bars, it would completely cut out. It still showed 5G and multiple bars. But nothing would work. I’d have to turn on and off airplane mode a couple times to fix it. While this is fine for sending texts, or connecting to the internet, it’s an absolute deal breaker if you want people to be able to contact you, especially friends and family you might be on vacation with. Avoid unless you don’t want to receive messages or notifications reliably.
