I was worried about how I was going to pay a lot of money to the “Big Red” company since they charge $10 a day. Then I stumbled upon Nomad and read the reviews, decided to check out their website. They actually have packs where their E-Sims will work in more than just one Country. It worked great for my iPhone 15, the only drawback is you don’t get a phone number, but you can use Whattsapp to make calls/ voice and video & texts to family and loved ones. (When we landed in S. Korea I did have to play with the network settings so it could search the network, but it found it quickly)

But it never happened. I attempted to use the service in multiple different countries over a years period of time. I’ve purchased at least five Sims from them, and every one had issues. Tech-support was quick to answer and ask the same questions, and usually not very helpful. Last time I was told to ‘get closer to a tower’. When traveling I activate the SIM before landing in the country I was arriving in, and it would work for a day or two, then I would spend many days without service, no maps, no translator and no way to locate hotels. No tech support unless you can find a Starbucks or have time to sit around a place that has free wifi and wait for a response. Typical time to resolve issues, three days. Yeah the price is great, but the last semi purchased 10 gigs/15 days and was only able to use .8 gigs in that time before the Sim expired because the service would not connect. The company did nothing except offer me their apologies. Which I’m thankful for. Would have liked a refund. Looking for a different company. Hope your experience is better.

I had a lot of trouble on my iPhone 15 I’ve traveled to many countries with eSIM this was my first time using nomad but unfortunately the network they use in Japan has known issues with iPhones. The challenges you want to be able to keep your primary Simon and just turn off roaming with iPhone so it doesn’t screw up your contacts and your ability to use iMessage and all that But with nomad the network they use gets confused which doesn’t happen in other countries on other networks and so you have to keep turning off your primary SIM and only use nomad, and even then I will say the nomad network is pretty poor. I ended up just buying roaming through my carrier Mint mobile and it works flawlessly. So I would warn you that the network they use in Japan is pretty bad.
