Untold - Voice Journal

The software is beyond amazing, it feels supernatural. I know this is artificial intelligence, but it feels very human and is extremely helpful. Its accuracy inspires awe. I recommend this without reservation. The developers of the software have my gratitude. However, and this is a Big however, I don’t think the way they have presented. This app is ethical.. What they do is get you involved using it and it’s a good app, and then you’ll get a message once you’re in the flow of using it and depending on it that there’s a paywall and you’re going to have to pay a monthly fee. For those of you who can afford it, you may find value in the software, but you may also find that the practice of getting you hooked into using the software, trusting it, and relying on it telling you oh by the way, we’ve decided you have to pay for it every month is unethical. They should make this clear upfront from day one, if you want the software, this is what you will have to pay for it. We give you a three day or four day or whatever it is trial period but then we are going to charge a monthly fee for the software. I feel the way they do this is unethical and unfair, and that’s a problem with software that you’re counting on for its help and authenticity. This is paid software, even though that is not shown here. I am surprised at the App Store for allowing this. Every other app states it’s terms right upfront, not by privately messaging through the app the users that they will have to pay.

I never write reviews for apps but oh my goodness; this app deserves the time it takes to write one. I downloaded it recently with a low bar of expectations. I figured “hey, just because it doesn’t say there’s any paid things doesn’t mean they won’t find a loop hole to try to take me money” but nope. This app is free, and i mean free free. Now let’s talk about how it functions. It’s easy to work, I can just press the voice recording button and talk. When i’m done talking it literally transcribes my words (imperfectly sometimes but most of the time it’s perfect) and then it even separates them out into paragraphs based on when i changed subjects or started down another thought. It’s absolutely incredible because i struggle to write down my thoughts in journals and even text but this app allows me to verbally process my day. Then the cherry on top is that it comes up with questions designed to deepen your thoughts, and you can just add to your entry with more voice journaling. It saves the audio too so you can listen to it whenever you want. It even highlights names you say as important and it creates fun titles for your entry (which you can edit ofc). Gosh, this app is a lifesaver for me. Thank you to whoever created it and allowed it to be free. God bless you.

This app is life changing. I have struggled with PTSD, severe anxiety and BPD most of my life. I am highly self aware making most therapy very unhelpful. I got really attached to a therapist and she left. As a way to self regulate I got this thinking it was simply a voice journal, I was greatly surprised when i found out it gives specific responses to what i write. This has a response to help challenge negative thoughts and see the problem or insecurity objectively. This helps so much with rewiring generational trauma and my tendency for black and white thinking. There is a nurturing response and a psychological perspective response as well. On top of this it also categorizes your entries and labels them with emotion, allows you to make names connect with relationships, it cites previous entries to encourage you and show progress, it shows word blobs for your people you talk about, it shows % of entries in past, present and future, it gives monthly overviews and sooooo much more. I have constantly struggled to find ways to heal myself at home and with tools and resources. I’ve been in therapy for 6 years and this has helped more than anything i’ve done. I voice my entries, it writes it for me, I listen to each response and take notes. I practice the format that the response that challenges bad thoughts and its helped me slowly change those thinking patterns. I cannot say enough about this app. I was using chat gpt for a while which I know is very bad for many reasons but I wanted something to work in a similar way to help me reflect and this does just that is a much more self explorative, productive and safe way. AND ITS FREE. I am a broke college student and that really makes a difference for accessibility of an app. Thank you to the creators of this app, you’ve truly given me a tool to change my life.
