I already left a review but feel compelled to leave another one. This app is free and is built around added bonuses the longer you use it as a โstreakโ, adding more free photos you can go through every day. The max used to be 250 per day, and I wrote my first review when that was dropped to 150 in an attempt to push more people to the paid tier of $8/week (for a service that can be entirely free even if with slightly more hassle - which is Absurd). With the new update this week, there is now an ad that displays every 5 swipes, and every 5ish ads a second pop up appears to say โpay to get rid of ads!โ. This is Insane and completely ruins the app experience with more ads than I have seen anywhere. The description mentions that there are no ads, and that principle has now entirely been made untrue. This app has been completely ruined by greed, just sort the photos every day via your own photo app. Donโt give Picnic your time, attention, or money - theyโve ruined their app and lost me with it. I hope I see more reviews calling this out because itโs just outright wrong.
The program has been great for sorting through old pictures. A few notes and surprises that have kept me going: 1) Space saving is great. Iโm on pace to hit more than 200GB saved. 2) My photo albums are now much more fun to look through since all the junk is getting cleared out. 3) Has been really good for taking a daily walk down memory lane. I review that dayโs photos throughout the years, remember them, send them to friends to remind them. Itโs great for my mental health and just for dusting off old memories. 4) I use it to make sure my digital photo frame gets updated. After sorting through all of the dayโs photos and marking favorites I then upload all the best ones to our photo frame. Our kids love it and go to the frame every day to see their memories. I would love for a discount to come once you hit something like 90% sorted. I like the program a lot, itโs worth every penny at the beginning, but once I hit my 1 year mark it would be nice to get offered a lifetime subscription for the price of another year or something like that. The developer is great, they respond quickly and fix things so I want to continue supporting them, but Iโm unsure if I would do so at full price once I hit 1 year. We will see, but for the first year itโs 100% worth it for sure.
This app is the only way I was able to crawl out of being overwhelmed by the 22,000 photos on my phone, - frivolous screenshots mixed with so many that were sentimental and important. I knew I had to clean up and simplify, but every time I tried to do so, it just felt like a tedious and frustrating process and I shut down. Pic Nic however actually made it possible for my ADHD brain to sort through, save what was important and delete thousands of photos, regaining storage space as well as clarity. I wanted to take advantage of the three day trial to go through ALL my photos, but once I got into it, this was so amazing for me that I paid for the year as a thank you to this company for helping me to do what had long felt impossible.
