i cry, very easily especially when it comes to grief and growing up/apart. This is probably why i cried at the ending, i didnt expect all the plot details coming back, the small details and the letter. i hadn’t realized when i became so attached to these characters over the last 2 months i spent playing but whenever a named character walked in i would make their favorite meals, i would sometimes sit and reread all their stories when i was bored and i think i still might despite getting all the achievements. All this to say, this is an amazing game with so much heart put into it, from the big blue basket used for silverware to the use language and most importantly the stories. I rooted for these characters, wished them growth and happiness and success and joy. I visualized their stories beyond the little 2d screen and thought up of the small town they lived in. This game made me feel a lot of emotions, it made me care.
This one really got to me, emotionally. I feel like I’m a part of this family at this point, now. I’ve played every single Hungry Hearts game, multiple times and it always leaves me feeling nostalgic. The writing is simple, but really stirs up all sorts of feelings and it’s so easy to relate to the customers. The fun new recipes were a great addition and I was happy, as always, to support the developers by purchasing the add-ons and boosts!
I loved it. Pre-ordered it and devoted 12 non stop hours to this game. I loved getting backstories for beloved characters, and I especially enjoyed getting to see granny and grandpa interact with each when they were younger. This version improved on the delivery system in the last one, which I remember liking as a concept but not in practice, as there were a few bugs. In this game, the deliveries were challenging but fun, and I was the most engaged with these stories! I also loved the new dishes in this game, specifically the desserts. I usually beat these games and move on, maybe because the menus are usually very similar, but the recipes were so interesting this time around that I tried to unlock every single one. These games stick with what they’re good at—great storytelling, simple mechanics, and creative puzzles. I’m not sure if it would make sense to add another game to the franchise, seeing as there’s already a prequel, sequel, and reprise, but I would love another one anyway. As long as hungry hearts is around, I will always play these games.
