I’ve mostly just played this developers otome games, but this one caught my eye since it wasn’t an otome game. I really disliked the other games that they made mostly since the gems were really hard to get and the premium story choices were expensive. In this game, the options are much cheaper, and resources and supplies are really easy to get. The characters are also Live2D animated as well, which is a really nice touch since all of the other games Storytaco made didn’t have the characters animated. Overall, I’m really into the game so far, the soundtrack is amazing as always, and the story is really sucking me in this time around. I’d absolutely love more games like this, it’s much easier to get invested in the game when it’s easier to gather resources, for me at least. (Also sorry for geeking out about the Live2D, I animate and rig in Live2D as a hobby, so I like it when games include it. Keep up the good work!)
Pros: * I like the story and characters so far, I’m not sure where it’s going but that’s part of the intrigue. It’s definitely enough to keep me interested. * It’s a bit hard to follow but I like the level of detail put into making the story mode feel like a livestream, with the chat going on in the background and the viewer count and the occasional camera effect * It’s still a huge grind but currency farming is a lot kinder than other mobile games that use the same “pay game currency to unlock story choices” format. It has a mix of check in/login bonuses and ad watching, when most I’m used to are ad focused to deter f2p. If you’re determined to f2p you can get away with patience and frequent check ins. * The archive system makes it easy to go back to a certain choice rather than start over from the beginning every time. Cons: * Translation is a bit awkward at times, but not unreadable * I wish there was a branch chart that made it clearer which choices lead to which episodes/endings, so I’m not rewinding blindly. (The archive button is misleading since it does show a branch chart on it, but then the menu is just a list of all the choices you have or haven’t chosen per episode.) YMMV: * Buying the ad removal makes the game so much more bearable, it removes ALL video ads for rewards, which makes it easier to farm currency (you still have to click the “watch ad” options but videos won’t trigger.) * Not all the character routes are available, so far only Hanse is available but it appears that his entire route is complete. If you are only interested in a specific route it might be a while. * Even though only one character is available, the route feels like a lot of content that will last me a while. In ymmv for impatient people but basically it doesn’t feel like a one and done game and you should expect to be in for the long haul if you want to follow the story to the end to completion.
It’s only been a few hours since it’s release but this game kinda feels like danganronpa and mafia had a baby lol. I really like the art style and the games gimmicks and its all told through this live streaming kind of way. My only complaint so far is that the dialogue ESPECIALLY between character interactions could be translated better. I find it hard to understand what the characters mean a lot of times and where the story is going and most times I have to pause the game for a second to figure out what’s actually happing. The translation could use a lot of work and above all some of the things the characters say just really don’t match what their personality’s are.
