I’ve played a few Otome games, but I always end up not being able to finish them because I don’t spend my money on games, and what happens is I end up getting stuck at a level or don’t have enough money in the currency of the game to continue whether that be diamonds, jewels, coins, etc but with Idols of Starlight, I basically got through it no problem. Other than having to keep an eye on the level of your cards so you can make it through the stages which are fairly easy to get through as long as your cards are near a certain level especially in the beginning, it’s all been easy and fun. You also can complete tasks to get money to level up your cards or rewards to use on other factors in the game. You don’t have to spend money in this game necessarily even though it gives you the choice. It was fairly easy for me at least to figure out how the game worked as well. This was a short review since I don’t have much to say on it since it’s been amazing. This game specifically will hold a place in my heart.

This is definitely one of the best otomes I've ever played, but just like all the others there isn't much to do besides the daily quests and activities (which are just tapping a few buttons or holding the screen) once you finish all the main routes. For other games I don't care as much because it takes much longer to finish all the routes whether that's because it's pay to win or there's a ton of characters. Starlight is a bit similar to ObeyMe games in the way that you read 1-3 stories and do a "battle" of sorts, but unlike ObeyMe the battles are very quick especially because when you first get the game you get a free 10 pull which guarantees an SSR, and it's very easy to level them up. Logging in every day means you'd very quickly finish everything in as low as three days, and then there's nothing to do. This could be easily fixed by making the "nearby opportunities" (jobs to earn lvl up materials) minigames instead of a one-tap thing so it takes a bit more effort and is more rewarding. Or even just making the battles require more power so it doesn't feel like this game is more optimized for speedrunners and not fans of the characters and stories. And more Noah content please and thank you, let my boy out of this story drought.

So first off, the voice acting is amazing!!! I love that all chapters & routes are completely voiced! I also love all the added phone calls, texts, social media interactions, and use of the chatroom. It really helps the characters and story come to life 🙂‍↕️ (also fun fact, Hikaru’s VA is the same as Akito Shinonome from Colorful Stage! It’s a shame we probably won’t hear him sing/rap..) I also love that progression through the story was smooth, I am not stuck behind “hourglasses” (old Mystic Messenger player here, teehee) or a similar currency to read chapters! I only have to focus on leveling up my cards to pass performances, which is fairly easy :3 The only true downside is that the cosmic crystals, which you use to pull from the gacha, are a bit hard to come by (unless you buy them) but otherwise, I really love this game! I’ve only been playing for about a week, I currently keep rereading Ren’s route…🤭 but I am already awaiting them adding more banners/events soon since I’ve only pulled from the permanent banner so far! I also hope to hear more music from Kuro Kitty! “Breathe” is definitely my favorite! I look forward to future projects from the Kuro Kitty Team! I will continue supporting them!🖤🐈‍⬛ edit: you should add some type of report system/error system so users can report tiny errors (like typos) while reading! I came across a few, none that took away from the meaning or immersion, but wasn’t sure how to report it to be fixed!
