Encore - Buy & Sell Better

I can only speak for my time using the app towards Pokemon, but I’m sure this can speak to anyone using the app for anything; Encore provides a wonderful currated platform to buy and sell products in long and short term auction format. The ability to see what will be auctioned in the future of short term auctions is wonderful. There’s occasionally wonderful giveaways you can enter from sellers or the platform itself. There’s a great referral program and the more you use and buy, the more you can get back in credit. Sellers can combine shipping post-sale to give quick refunds on combined orders after auctions which is wonderful. Messaging sellers and customer support is also convenient and of ease. Everyone I’ve interacted with has replied in a timely manner and with great help/assurance of what I reach out to for. Can’t recommend the platform and the experience of using it enough!

I tried to provide this feedback while deleting my account, but the keyboard displayed when entering the note blocked the submit button with no way to dismiss the keyboard. This was a prime example of why I’m deleting my account. The bugs in the UI and experience IMO speak to a greater potential for security issues, attention to detail is lacking and the app feels rushed. From the message I was unable to share when deleting my account: The notifications are very disruptive, more granular control is needed. I constantly get notified about giveaways that I don’t want to take part in. And when someone I follow loads their items it is a constant stream of pings! A digest would be MUCH better and less disruptive, as well as being able to say “don’t notify about giveaways or promotions, just tell me about my bids”. Deleting my account required me to enter my password… but changing my password did not? How is that secure? This seems like a very serious oversight and makes me concerned about how my details like physical address and payment details are stored in the system.

If you look at the 1 star reviews you’ll notice one thing in common with most of them - they are mad that they can’t sell cheap items on this app. That’s because this is a market for high end collectors. Designed to give buyers like me a market to scroll through without having to weed through hundreds of cheap items we see on every other app. If you’re hunting for rare funkos this is the marketplace for you! For a new app I was very impressed with the performance of the UI and the features of its auctions. Sure, it has room to grow. But this is ran by a small team who is just getting started. I’m happy to be apart of the ground floor. I’ve sold about 10 items and purchased about 3. I have no complaints with the process. The seller fees are very reasonable and so is the shipping cost as a buyer. Whether you’re hunting for rare items or looking to sell some, give this app a try!
