The S40 replaced my old white Lennox thermostat that had a dead screen. S30 thermostat was discontinued and unavailable. My only complaints are the expensive $1000 cost, touch screen will not wake unless I wave my hand within an inch of the screen or touch it, and is not Apple Home Kit compatible. S40 works with Google Home ok but I don’t care to use Google Home. The Apple S40 app is designed to work specifically with this thermostat and is required to replace the old Lennox app to work with iPhones. The screen brightness is about right at the very highest setting at all times. The WiFi connection is much more stable than my old thermostat. The outside temperature can be set to display either the outdoor sensor temperature or the local Accuweather temperature.

Update: At least add humidifier status on the main page like the old app has. I do see heating and cooling icons/activity on the main page, so why not humidifier activity? One less tap to see it. As I said below, this version adds NOTHING of benefit for the user. EVERYTHING takes more taps/swipes. Poor UI. This new app works fine for me. I was able to log in with my existing account and it connected without issue. The data appears without issue. Here’s the problem: it doesn’t do ANYTHING better than the old app. In fact, if you have multiple furnaces/AC, it is LESS convenient than the old app which allows you to swipe left/right to view the different units. Why do companies feel compelled to change an app that works? Listen to your customers and not your app developers who only want to make money and change for the sake of change. This is a tool and if it works don’t change it. If there technical issues, then fix those. I wish companies would learn that people want reliable functionality from an app along with ease of use. This new app is NOT easier to use any way and doesn’t provide additional functionally. This app makes it harder to view much of the data by requiring additional clicks and swipes. That’s my opinion, and I doubt Lennox will take away anything from it sadly.

The new app is so slow and has caused the previous app to be even slower. It has extra steps that waste time it’s cloudy and is so slow. It takes about 30 seconds for it to kick in after it’s grayed out and then the next step takes another 30 seconds is a long delay the class slow and the scrolling is not good and then when you set the time it goes back to the original time and you have to wait for it to make sure that it stays on the correct temperature before you go to the next room I have no confidence in it. I’ve set the time many times and then it doesn’t set the time and you have to be paranoid to go back to check. It’s unreliable. It’s a step backwards from the previous app. This app is a step backwards so many extra steps, not well-thought-out and time wasting, is someone going to do anything about it and let customers know when you’re going to redo it or improve it? Unreliable, set temp, but reverts back to previous temperature, have to triple check through clunky extra tike wasting steps because I no longer trust it and have to repeatedly set the desired temperature. Customer service and communicating with Lennox is not easy, who knows if the corporate office knows about the issues and how this new app is not an improvement.
