First of all, I’m a very considerate individual and as a rule I never really make critical comments about people, businesses or service providers. But I’ve got to admit, in all my years of traveling extensively across the globe I have never had a worse customer experience than what Europcar put me through. Europcar ruined my recent family vacation right from the very start and to cap it all up, their stooge who received the vehicle fraudulently extorted me by claiming bogus scratches on the rim for which Europcar charged me. If Europcar had requested they needed money I would have gladly donated, but extorting me by cooking up some bogus charges is beyond the pale. I wished I had never signed up to use Europcar. Well, this is one bad experience that will not repeat itself as I am never coming back, and I will make it my mission to prevent everyone in my immediate circle from making the same mistake by booking your services.
Whoever wrote the backend for this platform needs to quit their job and go back to intro to computer science. I clicked back on during booking on the website, and despite not showing any confirmation or indication, Europcar already charged my credit card. Because they also don’t have any support phone numbers listed anywhere, I had to dig deep into the internet and found their sales number, which they couldn’t find any reservation and told me to call back on Monday when their customer service opens. How can any rental not have 24/7 customer service, and the fact that they can charge me without any trail of evidence, nothing shows up on website, nothing shows up in this old looking app, even their sales can’t find my reservation in database and I can’t even get my money back. THANKS FOR RUINING MY DAY
I frequently get errors. I tried to report the error in the app using their email contact option, and that broke too. Couldn’t even send the feedback email. On top of that, it’s really hard to browse. It makes you pick a location first and then say your pickup times and drop off. But if your location is closed, they just say — nope, sorry. So you go back to square one and try the next location and hope the hours work out. Why not just have the user enter the pickup drop off times first, then show the available location — makes much more sense, right??!
