I’ve mostly enjoyed the app and met some interesting people so far. I’d suggest a few bug fixes/features though:
1. Users currently can’t access the history of posts they’ve engaged with. The only way to revisit previous posts is via notifications triggered by likes/comments. Users should be able to view all posts they’ve engaged with in a dedicated history or activity section.
2. When users are muted (temporarily banned from commenting/posting), the app does not provide any info about the reason for the mute. Users should receive some info about why they’ve been muted.
3. The main post feed only displays ~3 posts at a time and does not allow users to scroll to view older posts. Users should be able to scroll through the feed to see additional posts.
4. Users can’t tag or mention other users in comments to reply directly to them. Users should be able to tag others to specifically notify the tagged user.
5. Users set a maximum distance to view other users, but the app displays users beyond this set distance. The app should only display users within the selected max distance.
6. There is sometimes a significant delay when tapping on a notification before being directed to the relevant post. Users should immediately be directed to the relevant post without a noticeable lag.

Yuzu’s mission and intention for this app is great and something I have been looking for for the longest time. I have mostly enjoyed using the social aspect of the app (versus dating side). I want to continue being a fan of Yuzu, and will be here hoping for some app improvements. It is still too new (as an app and for my region of the US) that there is not a lot of people for me to go through before I see profiles that are 150 miles away from me. I really wish there was a way for the app to be very strict to my distance preferences because there is no point for me to consider friends that far. The biggest gripe I have is that I continue to see several people that do not seem to be of Asian descent here… in a space that is for Asians to meet other Asians…I understand Yuzu may not be able to should not discriminate or filter people out of this app….But I think there should be more of an effort to emphasize and provide educational resources in how to respect this space/what are some of the problematic issues here/or understand that this space is for community building and/dating for Asians.

Please make the filters work better. The location filter doesn’t work and neither do preference filters. I get the developers can’t explicitly discriminate against non-Asian users or force non-Asian users off their app, but there are so many people who are clearly not of any Asian descent on here to satiate their Asian fetish. I get that Asian people come in all different looks and mixed people obviously exist, but some people are very clearly not Asian when they put their roots as “United States” and “Other” with some explicitly admitting on their profile they are not Asian. In an hour on the app under “dating” I think I screenshot 30+ non-Asian dudes clearly here to be weird. At least let us filter these people out. The app gives the option but then it doesn’t actually for whatever reason. For people who aren’t Asian, there are other ways to find community with k-drama and anime than colonizing an app that is meant for the Asian community. If your filters worked it would be a good app. Gonna go back to Hinge because their Asian filter actually works.
