I and many other Nannie’s have used this platform for a long time and recently have noticed a significant uptake in families leaving false reviews when the nanny has not even worked for the family. It has led to Nannie’s having their accounts locked and they have been unable to look for work. These families are wrecking havoc on people’s ability to find jobs and on people’s income. It is absolutely appalling.
A parent from kinder told me about Find A Babysitter. The website was great for finding an after school carer and the app is handy to get messages. Much better than other options we have tried.
I wish there was a way to give the families a review. I had a horrible experience with a family where I was an Au Pair for 4 months and then all the sudden the woman told me to move out as soon as possible without any warning, such as a notice. I'm not from Australia and have no family here so it was quite a difficult situation. She didn't pay me well, sometimes there was no food to eat, she made me clean almost everything in the house (which wasn't the inicial planning), and sometimes I worked overtime and she didn't compensate me for it at all. She treated me so poorly at the end, and I never did anything bad to her or her baby, such as stealing, treating bad, breaking any rules; Sometimes she would travel, and I never had anyone over in respect for her. I understand I am not perfect and maybe I'm not the best cleaner, but that's not even an Au Pair's job anyway? She refused to give me a reference, but I was always good at what the job is: keeping her baby safe, happy, clean and well fed. I worry the same will happen to someone else, so I would like to give her some sort of review to warn others. If there is an Au Pair option in the app there needs to be more concern towards keeping Au Pair's safe. Being in a foreign country is scary enough, no one deserves to go through a situation like the one that I did.
