Avoid this app at all costs. The company is in Australia and they have no phone number and bury the customer service in poor chat bots and emails that take days. The person i used on this app had exemplary ratings but destroyed my car and did a bad job. He dodged all communication and demanded more money afterwards for work he did not finish. Airtasker makes it impossible to get in touch with them, and by the time you do they will make sure not to help you in any way. They will blame the tasked and claim to help you talk to them but then they don’t actually, and there is no human to talk to. They put misleading information about insurance and liability stuff on their website but they don’t offer any liability or help if anything goes wrong and they have 0 interest in refunding you or holding the takers accountable. BEWARE!
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE platform for workers. The idea itself is GREAT, but the execution is unbelievably bad. First off, they take a 20% CUT from the people actually doing the work from EVERY offer - and customers have NO IDEA. Meanwhile the app constantly encourages customers to post CHEAP jobs, so people expect insane amounts of labor for almost nothing. Once you factor in: * gas * drive time * wear and tear on your vehicle * tools * supplies * the company’s ridiculous fee …you end up making LESS than minimum wage on a lot of jobs. People seriously expect you to install an entire room of curtains, mount TVs, move furniture, or do handyman work for basically pocket change. The app conditions customers to think skilled labor is worth NOTHING. Customer service is HORRIBLE. The app is FULL of glitches. Verification takes forever. Payouts take forever. Support is useless. And somehow this app has all these glowing reviews? I genuinely do not believe they authentic because my experience has been the complete opposite. This could’ve been an amazing platform if they structured it around hourly rates and treated workers fairly. ***Instead, it feels like a race to the bottom where everyone is encouraged to underbid each other into poverty.*** One of the MOST frustrating gig apps I’ve ever used. STAY AWAY.
Simple, easy to use app. I posted a job and received offers almost instantly. No waiting around, the people on the app were very friendly and communicative. Only constructive feedback I have is from the Airtasker customer service team. I reached out with two questions regarding Airtasker credits and they only responded to one of them. Aside from that, this app is my new go two for finding help from my community. You can get so many things done from using Airtasker. I love supporting local entrepreneurs and this is a perfect way to do so!
