Moms on Call Scheduler

I excitedly bought the app before my baby was born and now I regret it because it definitely needs some work. Currently to me with a 5 day old, the biggest flaw is the feeding section. It needs a timer but it also needs a way to document the range of time that your baby fed on each side. The pause button is starting my timed feed over, so I have multiple feeds that look like they were a minute vs the actual amount of time. I also don’t like that if you back- document something, it shows it as the most recent on the history vs adding it where it should be. Ex- (So if I just changed the baby’s diaper and then realized while documenting the current diaper that I forgot one from a few hours ago and went to add it, then it’ll show up on the main screen that I hadn’t changed the baby in hours vs the minutes it might’ve been, so it’s easy to get your sleep deprived self confused on what is going on.) I’ve since looked at many apps that seem much better but I’m frustrated because I already spent the money on this one. We enjoyed the book and still plan on following the MOC methods, but this app is currently more frustrating that it is helping.

I love moms on call and have used this method with my kids and it works. I am disappointed with the app. As mentioned in previous review you can tell it is a newer app and there are a lot of things to work out in it. For example… I wanted to customize my toddlers schedule and unless you add every single planned item that is on the regular moms on call schedule you can’t save your customized schedule. What I mean is unless you use all snack times that are listed (5 I believe) you can’t save the schedule. I was unable to figure out how to include specific times to the schedule also like 7am-8:30am play time. I could only set play time for 7am. Also, I deleted my toddler from the app all together and still receive notifications on that child’s schedule as if it was still there. The nursing side could also be updated. It has an overall time for nursing not specific to each breast. Also it has amount of oz baby took during a nursing feed?? How could you possibly know that. Not without weighing baby on special scale etc. Just a few things that I have seen so far. Again loveee the thought of having this app. But needs more work!

This app is horribly developed and needs some serious work. We love Moms on Call, but this app just isn’t it. Trust me now— save your money and just buy the book and find another app to track your diapers and feedings. The feeding timer often glitches out on its own and you aren’t able to track your feed. And worst of all for me is that you can’t really set your own pace. I have a preemie who needed to go at a slightly slower pace (which we determined through the help of Moms on Call), but this app doesn’t give you an easy way to go at your own pace. It will only let you move forward to a new schedule when you are prompted to, so even when you try to “see next schedule” it won’t show you the one after the one you are on, but rather the one after the one it thinks you should be on. So since I couldn’t move ahead to the next schedule until two weeks after I needed to when the app finally prompted me to, I was accidentally looking at the 8-16 week schedule for my preemie (whose adjusted age was 1-2 weeks), instead of being able to see the 4-8 week schedule. This app is a mess and has some serious bugs to fix!
