I love this app. Everything moves as quickly as the player, so it really adapts to you and your style. While the options for customization are minimal, there’s enough there to create a space that feels kind of unique. And most of all, it’s fast! You open the app and you’re playing Hearts. The tips at the beginning are unreadable because the screen loads so quickly but that doesn’t feel like a bad thing. Hints are available to help you learn to play if you need them, there are ZERO annoying pop-ups or mini-games that make you feel like you have to complete some random list of tasks before you truly begin, you can increase the likelihood that advanced strategies can be used by the AI, and it’s just simple. If you like Hearts, I’d recommend this game!
This is my 4th review. They delete reviews not favorable. While the layout is very nice, it’s ruined by the cheating. I’ve played thousands of games and the cheats repeat themselves every game. It is gratifying to beat cheaters so that’s why I play. Here are some examples: All deals are skewed to disadvantage the live player. I get the 2 of clubs 90% of the time. I never get the jack of spades, it’s always on my right. I have never had a hand without at least two high spades, tens of thousands of hands, the odds are improbable. One bot is always the loser, he takes points for the winner. This is seen by incredibly numb moves, taking unnecessary points so the designated winning bot has a chance. The winning bot should play the lottery, never has high spades but does have several low spades, every hand. They gang up on you. No effort is made to set the other bots. No effort is made to stop them from shooting the moon. All efforts are towards the live player. This is not realistic play, ganging up on one player would never fly in real life. It’s truly amazing how much disregard they have for the customer, it must be easier to cheat and ignore the customer rather than hire intelligent programmers with ethics. There is no progressively harder play, just more flagrant and infuriating levels of cheating. It really should be embarrassing to put a game out like this with no effort to be fair. Beating them, despite the flagrant cheating, is very gratifying.
So, I play this game too much. First off I’d like to say that the gameplay is solid and the AI is good. They prevent runs and also know when to play against each other rather than just the player. As a player, once you get high enough in the rankings, it gets harder and harder to run it and shoot the moon. This makes sense to me and I appreciate getting harder as you move up in the rankings. I also feel as you move up your hand selection gets a little worse, although it could just be my own ability to choose which cards to pass in which ones not to. I have one issue with this game though, I play quickly and play the card that I want to play almost instantly, but when you do this, the cards available to play Will shift because there’s one less card to play, and if you play quickly, this can make you play the wrong card which I’ve done several times because the card shift as you play them. I don’t know how to developers can fix this, but I’m a competitive dude and when I play the wrong card because they shift and I play a little too quickly, I feel like I’m being punished for no reason. I’m not developer, and I don’t think Hess is a popular game, but I would appreciate it, if the cards didn’t shift as quickly, or maybe I should just play more slowly lol. Played this game for years, and I usually know which card to play, but if the card shifted to the left after you’ve played your last card and a new set is played by the AI, I believe the cards shouldn’t shift, or I don’t even know. This is my review, I hope the developers see it, and I hope to understand it, because I’ve played the card. I absolutely shouldn’t have, because the card shifted at the last second.
