Mahjong Titan+

I'm enjoying this game. The gameplay is very nice. I have some gripes, to wit: it's awkward and just not right that choosing a tileset immediately kicks you out of the settings screen as if the settings had crashed. You can set other options and remain on the settings screen, so why not the tileset? I wish there was an option to play classical Chinese music instead of the European-style chamber music that is at present the only option. And I wish getting three stars for a given board didn't depend on time. I don't enjoy rushing – that's something I have to do to get to work in the morning, not something I want to have to do while trying to relax and play a game. (My workaround for this is to content myself with getting two stars, which is usually possible no matter how long I take to finish the board.) But those gripes aside, it's a very nice game. Beautiful graphics, natural, intuitive gameplay...nice job, devs. 🙏🏻

I started playing this when I was recovering from a concussion, and it really helped! Trying to think of what moves I should do compared to what I see, and also trying to focus on all the tiles really helped! I’ve almost completed every board (including going back and completing all the previous daily boards), and I think a fun option would be a “random board” button. This way instead of resetting all the boards, you could be taken to a random board to replay. This could also be an option for regular players that just want to play, not necessarily trying to complete each level individually.

This is my favorite Mahjong app… no issues for me, so I was shocked when I hunted this down in the App Store for the sole purpose of giving it 5 stars! Like, what the heck? Either Apple Arcade subscribers are naturally more whiny, or I’m just simple? My favorite part about this game is going to sound silly, but it is BY FAR the fact that the soothing MUSIC is NEVER INTERRUPTED! I play every night before bed so the fact that I can play level after level (and also return to the menu and select different challenges) without any break in the melody is just an overlooked godsend! Okay, but ALSO: there’s an option to control the volume of the sounds separately from the music. If you don’t wanna hear your matches (or wanna hear them in the background), you can control the sound slider separately from the song! I’m really not sure if the developers intended for their Mahjong game to create a flawless meditative environment or not, but with the music and the overall smoothness of the app, it’s 5 stars from me. In addition to the wonderful audio which many take for granted, there are so many options for boards. You’ve got so many sets of regular boards, tons of premium ones, AND daily challenges (which don’t expire, so you can go conquer the past. People are gonna be like “wow who paid her for this review?” …but I promise that I’m a rando haha I’m simply a stressed out millennial from Rhode Island with three kids; who has tons of appreciation for the little things that lighten life’s anxious load. Great job to the Kristiansens behind this peaceful perfection!
