Made the switch to Castos to host my premium feeds, and very pleased. This app is meant to be an easy access point for your subscribers to access their private podcasts, and it serves that purpose perfectly. Subscribers just add the email address and they can easily access all the private podcast feeds that come with their subscription. The creator of the feed decides whether or not to allow downloads. This app is not meant for handling all podcasts, just private feeds hosted by Castos. If the user wants more features, like you get from Overcast, they can to copy and paste their private feed URL and subscribe there.
Well, the podcasts appear in your library seamlessly and play. You can adjust the playback speed and volume. There is a download feature which absolutely does not work for me on my iPhone, so I can’t listen offline. And what I dislike the most is the lack of any option to bookmark and save particular episodes.
Good app, but would be so improved by adding a few things: A sleep timer would be huge! Right now, it just keep playing and playing, eventually waking you up if you fall asleep listening to an episode. Remember where I left off in an episode. Would love the ability to download episodes to my phone. Update: Now the app remembers where I left off, but I’m unable to play any other episode! If I click on a new podcast, it keeps jumping back to where I left off in the previous episode. Really annoying.
