Gas Meter Mate

Terrible app. I was directed to use this after I received an inaccurate, estimated meter read - took a year to get that refunded. I recommend you go directly to the Water & Energy Ombudsman if you want to be taken seriously. But regarding the app, it logs you out every time you use it, it keeps prompting you to submit a read even when you submit a read, and you can’t even view or access previous reads from your end. It is also unclear most times if your read has even been submitted! You don’t get an email confirmation or anything. Use a different service with a different provider than Jemena.

I just received an email from Jemena saying to update the app to the latest version to be able to receive push notifications - I did this when it was released..three months ago… and yet, still no push notifications for submitting a meter read. Tsk, tsk, Jemena; pull your finger out and contract a decent app developer instead of going with the cheapest and nastiest that have no skills in app production and maintenance as well as zero communication skills.

Don’t use this app!! I have been trustingly been using this app for 2 years and I have submitted all my gas readings and attached photo of reading, as required. Today, after speaking with my gas supplier, they told me they have NEVER EVER RECEIVED ANY OF MY READING INFORMATION OR PHOTO’S OF MY GAS METRE READ FROM GAS METER MATE!!!! So now my gas supplier has to come out do a meter read from last meter read in November 2020 to now, with an additional cost to me of $69 to have the meter read and my supplier told me all the readings showing current were all “estimates”, I am absolutely beyond furious. This app is beyond words for me, “beyond furious” doesn’t even cut it!
