Leap Top Up

The TFI payment system obviously needs a rework, and hopefully in a few years the contactless payment system will be implemented. But this app itself is actually pretty solid. It almost always works for me, and when it doesn’t, the issue seems to be with my phone or iOS itself, not this app. In light of that, I consider the other reviews of it to be unjustly harsh. I like being able to easily see the transaction history and top up with such little effort — plus seeing how much time is left on the TFI 90-minute fare since you first tapped on is very helpful. So all-around, I’d say this is a good app — and to the developers, thanks for making it!

This app is only helpful to check the balance on your leap card, and from what I’ve seen in the reviews, some can’t even do that. Every time I try to “top up” the card (the central feature of the app, as the name would suggest), the payment system buffers and fails, regardless of the internet connection. Great idea for an app though.

Love being able to top up from my phone, hate never being able to scan my card. The app constantly says there is a problem scanning my card—would be more helpful if i could create an account and didn’t have to try to scan my card every time I wanted to use the app. Or, at least be able to see the scan as you are using the app. In that sense, a very poor design. Once it’s open, however, very useful. Please fix these bugs!
