while i loved the app before, i think something with the new update broke the app for me. it’s extremely laggy, images will not load even after deleting all and redownloading all, duplicate album issues, to name a few. plus, worst of all and the thing to make me switch to another app; my phone has gotten VERY hot and the battery drains very quickly. restarting my phone seems to fix it, but i realized after looking at my battery log, it’s amperfy. while only being on screen for 1m and in background for 1h, it used 2x more battery than the apps i had open on screen for 1h. seriously what is happening? for now im switching to a new client until these issues are fixed im not trying to be harsh, just venting my issues! ** original review: finally made the switch to hosting my own music library using navidrome. of the few apps i tried, i like this one the most by far. there are a few minor bugs here and there, but i don’t have to pay for a service anymore which is amazing. i also love the new update with the theme colors. **

First of all, thank you to the developers of this project for their hardwork. I quickly went through the process of connecting to my Navidrome server and want to share my experience. Hardware: I am using an iPhone 13 on ios 18. Review: Preface, I am on an earlier version of this app. Take my review with a grain of salt. That being said, this client does everything it needs to and well. This is a good, stable client for the majority of users and that is a good thing. It does however, make it a bit of a boring option when compared to alternatives offering more features. I would daily drive this app, and I wouldn’t mind recommending it to less technical users.

It doesn’t trigger the transcode on the server side (at least not in navidrome), so if you got a codec not compatible with iOS, it won’t ask the server to transcode, and you won’t be able to listen to that song Other apps work, so it’s just the way this app handles the request That said, this app is wayyy more polished and looks way better than most subsonic apps there (and allows for song list, many subsonic apps show just albums and artists) Would be good to have the app ask the server to change the codec on the fly to mp3/flac so iOS can play it… And would be awesome to get support for the radio stations already set up on the server Edit: CarPlay just shows recently added songs/artists/albums and favorite songs/artists/albums but there isn’t a way to see all your collection
