Iโve been trying a few focus games over the last year or so since being diagnosed with ADD, and even before when I was still trying to figure stuff out. I can say with a lot of confidence that this is certainly one of the cutest and most helpful focus games Iโve used out of the many Iโve tried! The art style is simple, but very cute, and the game play is easy to understand if youโve played other idle games before too! I really love that there is a story to go along with it too, it keeps me at least a little interested in coming back every day to keep going and to make my character more powerful to defeat bosses and progress through the story. The art style in particular was a big reason I tried, and found I really liked this game, as Iโve tried off and on with Habitica before, and although I do like Habitica, Iโm always really into character customization and wasnโt a big fan of Habiticaโs art style for the player characters. Iโd love to see more character customization options if possible, even like a store or special quest area where you can earn new customization options by spending more time focusing, but Iโm also not too far into the game just yet, so I might not have run into this sort of thing just yet. Otherwise, I really do like this game! Itโs been a big help in getting me to do my work and not procrastinate like I did last year in college! Thank you devs for making such a cute, helpful game ๐ฅฐ
I was fighting my game addiction so I was trying to find a game thatโs still *fun* but *not addicting* and *not time consuming*, and this one is just perfect! I really love the feature that you need to work / study / focus on things in order to level up. Now itโs been a habit for me to open it when I start to work. The great thing is, it gives you a sense of achievement as you work / study, since you gain exp and points etc! Also, the time you focused can be used in next story stage, so you can work for a whole day and read several stages at night when you have the mood! Or if you are like me who start to have a habit to open this whenever you start to work, as you can imagine, you will then pill up 4000min+ focus time during the week and read many story stages on Sunday :D The story is not very long (at this point to like stage 8.1 or 8.5 I think). But itโs not a problem. Even after story finishes you still can keep gathering points and exps to lvl up! One suggestion is, can we have a count up timer? Or keep the rewards proportional to how long we have focused, when we stop the session earlier? I oftentimes face the scenario that โI planned to work for 2hr but then at 1hr 50min someone called me and I have to leave, so I must stop the app.โ Itโs discouraging that you lose all rewards when you do this.
I really love how this app takes my need to progress in an adventure game and turns it into focus time! My screentime has gone way down since I started. I feel like Iโve really hit a standstill in the story though and Iโm becoming less motivated to put in focus time. Iโm over 117 hours of focusing at this point and I feel like the story hasnโt progressed since around 80 or so. Itโs just a lot of โexploring focus landโ and no other development, even when I level up. Otherwise, I love the app and have found it super useful.
