Update - after calling Jeep support, it turns out you need a subscription to be able to use the app to start/stop engine, lock/unlock doors, etc. we were not told this nor did we receive any documentation or email stating this. We have updated our subscription to include navigation, lock/unlock doors, WiFi hotspot and start stop engine. Was pretty pleased with this app, prior to the latest update. It worked well most of the time. However, with the most recent update, a few functions were removed. The door lock / unlock and remote start functions removed from this last app update. This is very frustrating! Having the ability to start your vehicle from the app was very convenient. Please put these options back in the app?
The old Jeep app worked just fine for me and had basic information about my 2020 Jeep grand Cherokee. I had my Jeep serviced today and went to the app to see if everything was update but to my surprise the old app is not supported any longer and the application directed me to Apple Store to download the new one. I did all that and low and behold it was like I never existed and neither did my vehicle. So went thru the account sign on screen and entered the last 8 digits of my vehicle and like others have mention, it said there was an issue and it directed me to call an agent. Thought I was calling someone at Jeep, but nooooo! Call was to Sirius agent to sell me their services. After several minutes of listening to the agent I advised him I only wanted the basic service. So he connected me to Jeep rep. But that was as useless as the Sirius agent. So she directed me to Uconnect line. After 10 minutes on hold I gave up. Uncle! All I wanted was the basic services with my cars maintenance records and basic info. I didn’t think that was too much to ask for but it seems to be a big deal! Is this the way Jeep runs their business with trickery and misleading information? Last Jeep for me. LDLOVE
Just activated my free trial. I am not new to Jeep but I am new to the app. I am amazed there is no real-time status info. Seriously, it is 2023 and the app does not allow you to just click a refresh button to get current vehicle info such fuel level, mileage, etc. That is ridiculous. And the update intervals are too inconsistent to be reliable. For example, I can only see info from 3 days ago even though I drive everyday. Why? I would expect the app to update at the very least when its opened but I guess the app has a mind of its own. The app does not provide any real-time info for the remote functions either. Why can’t the app just tell me whether my doors are locked/unlocked when I open it? Just show some visual indicator. Maybe transition between green (locked) and red (unlocked) or better yet display “vehicle doors locked” or “vehicle doors unlocked.” Why should I have to click the lock button and get a notification IN ANOTHER TAB just to tell me that the operation was successful when all I wanted to know was whether my doors are locked/unlocked. This information should be automatically displayed. Same for remote start. If the remote start was successful, why not just show the icon as green or better yet display “vehicle ignition on,” and if/when we click the “cancel engine” the icon goes back to grey/black as it is now? I’ve seen plenty of other manufacturer’s apps show users which specific doors/windows of the car are locked/unlocked. The ONLY real-time vehicle information we get from this app is vehicle location. For $15/mo we need better. We can track our vehicles location for free using Google/Apple Maps.
