ElephantTrax: storage tracker

ElephantTrax is a useful app for organizing storage boxes and keeping track of items with QR codes. It makes it easier to manage home inventory, storage bins, garage items, and moving boxes without opening every box again and again. The app works well overall, but one improvement I would like to see is better offline support. Sometimes storage areas, garages, basements, or storage units may not have a strong internet connection, so offline access would make the app even more helpful. Overall, it is a good app with strong potential, and I would give it a 4+ rating.

Downloaded the app & ordered stickers as soon as I found this. I have so many tubs and I try my best to label them so I know what’s in them at a glance but this concept is so perfect! I don’t mind that you have to take a picture of the item instead of being able to use one in your phones album. The app is easy to use and I’ve had no issues with the labels scanning, am interested to see how they handle fading from being on a box in the attic. TLDR: it’s simple, it’s easy, works great, amazing way to organize something!

I really like the concept of being able to scan a label and see what I have stored inside my containers. The only problem I have is the process of having to take the pictures within the app and going back and forth within app to take pictures of items. I would prefer being able to take all my pictures with my phones camera app and then selecting pictures within the app. This way I can take pictures much faster. The other problem I have when having to take pictures within the app is that I’m having to click done so every so often so they save in case the app crashes it doesn’t delete all my photos and having to retake my photos again. The last issue I have encountered is having to login to my account each time. If the app crashes, which it does frequently, I have sign in again. Would really like if they added the Face ID feature. I really like the concept of this app but feel it could use a few upgrades.
