I used to be able to click and edit the events directly in the timeline and now I have to do it on the list view which keeps refreshing every time back to the top. I have to keep scrolling back down to where I was and it’s very confusing and a waste of my time! I don’t see why they got rid of the timeline edit option!!!!! Very bad update. Also, it never gets my cats nor the events right so I always have to edit it. Update: it’s still not getting my cats right, I have to rely on a camera and spend 20-30 minutes every few days fixing all the events. My biggest complaint besides for what’s written above, is that when the app gets the cat wrong but at least it guesses something, I can change both the cat and the event in one go, but when the app say “a cat”, all I can do is click on which cat it was and then I can’t go to the next page to edit the event as well (which the app gets wrong more than 50% of the time), it just sends me back to the main menu. So I have to wait for it to load, scroll down to the event and tap it again to also change the event. So dumb. I wish these things got fixed already, the scale was very expensive, it’d be great if it actually worked. The app creators shouldn’t rely on ai getting it correctly so updating events should be much much easier and quicker. ALSO! We should be able to create an event manually if the scale had a hiccup and didn’t record them which has happened in the past.
Update(14-Aug-24): The manufacturer released an update that greatly helped with the problem of forgetting which cat is which. It now is a much better experience. I changed my rating from two to five stars Original Review: I have two cats, one weighing around 10.5 lbs and the other around 14.5 lbs so you think it would be able to tell them apart. While the Petivity device itself is great, the app has some significant issues. The app often confuses my cats, leading to incorrect alerts. For example, I'll receive notifications saying a cat hasn't used the litter box in days, but this is only because the app has reverted back into learning mode and can’t tell which cat is which. Even after I manually update the events to correct this, the alert persists, and the reporting remains inaccurate. This makes it difficult to rely on the app for accurate monitoring.
Set-up instructions should be reviewed for order and clarification (tells you to put the litter box on top of the monitor, then the next step is to find the serial number… located at the bottom of the monitor. Then the serial number in the app doesn’t directly match the monitor, it’s some letters then the last 4 digits of the serial. This is not clarified in the app, but found in the site’s FAQ.) Also after many errors, I had to be sitting next to my router/modem to get the connection before moving it back to its home space (where there has not been an issue with connectivity since)Notifications have worked fine for my household, and have correctly assigned different events. Would love to see different tracking options, as I am interested in things like if there are times typical for each event (i.e. is my cat peeing once at 6am, again at 8am, and then not again until 7pm typical for her?) and/or average length of time between each event. The app has several charts available, but are not customizable to what you might want to see. Something I understand may be difficult to implement, but I’m most hopeful for, is calculation of the size of the event (and alert if normal.) I finally purchased the monitor after realizing I knew my cat was peeing 2-3 time a day, but wasn’t actually monitoring size (was she going in for 4 small urination events instead of 2 normal sized ones, or 2 larger than healthy events stead of three healthy pees?), so had gotten the monitor to help keep this measurement more easily. It was fully my error that I assumed and didn’t verify this was an available metric, and understand why it would be a harder problem to solve than other tracking metrics immediately availability, but I hope it comes in the future!
