I saw the ad on Facebook where it shows your ethnicity, and I thought I’d check it out, figuring it was just another janky app. I thought I could at least entertain myself for a few minutes. I read the reviews and thought, “I’m bored, I’ll give this app a try anyways. Maybe it’ll be so bad it’s funny.” Well, you have to sign up for a free trial to even use the app - and after 7 days it’s $8.99/WEEK. That’s almost $36 a month for an app that everyone is saying is awful. I didn’t even try out the app because that’s so expensive and especially in times like these I cannot afford to pay that much for stupid face filters.
Not only is the app intentionally misleading from an actual product performance stand point, (it hardly even attempts to accomplish what it advertised to do by realistically aging a persons face. Instead it uses a sagging face filter) it is deceptively predatory by using any means necessary to lull users into a “free trial” and then upgrading the account to a “premium account” after a short period of time. This would not be an issue if the app could be canceled as described and clearly labeled on the app itself as it tells you how to do so, BUT the app says to unsubscribe via your Apple Account under subscriptions yet Facekit AI never shows up as a subscription, therefore you CANNOT CANCEL it before being charged. Also they claim that not using the app cancels the subscription but a few paragraphs later, Facekit AI claims deleting the app DOES NOT CANCEL THE SUBSCRIPTION. Lies in marketing, lies on how to cancel, and outrageous WEEKLY subscription charges of $8 a week! They intentionally set this app up to steal money from people and didnt intend to deliver on their stated goals while making it impossible to unsubscribe all the while robbing people and delivering no product. Absolutely unnacceptable. A piece of human trash designed this with the intent to deceive and steal. This app needs to be removed from the app store. I will report this app when I have more time and figure out the proper channel to do so. In the meantime, a way to avoid being charged by the app before your “free trial” is over is to take all of your credit card information off of your apple account before they automatically charge you. I hope whoever designed this app gets what is coming to them in the form of a life crippling lawsuit.
I downloaded this being bored trying to pass time and the reason I downloaded this was because I saw an ad that showed a boy getting older and it looked pretty decent so I downloaded it then used the aging thing and it was HORRIBLE! All it added was a pancake to the face trying to make you look older. It was wrinkles and droopy skin then I tried the beauty editor and all it did was make your head, nose and eyes bigger or smaller and it did a bad job. I wish I could give this app negative 5 stars it does noting it says it can they made this app hoping to get a few quick bucks. Well there you go. This app doesn’t even deserve 1 star it deserves negative 5 stars.
